Fostering Post

My name is Laura and I'm a 35 year old part time worker and full time work-at-home mama. My husband of six years and I live in a little rural area in Texas with our four children. This is my third blog to attempt and will diligently work towards keeping up with. This blog is different for me because my posts will be over the most permanent thing in my life: my family.

Husband and I spent years trying to conceive. Everything failed. One day I was handed a church bulletin from a girlfriend and she gently suggested that Husband and I attend a foster-to-adopt meeting at a local hotel ballroom. Reluctantly and hesitantly we attended and within a week had our applications submitted and would begin this beautiful journey of ours. The day we submitted our application was the day a sibling group of four arrived at the emergency shelter of the adoption agency we went through. It was meant to be and so it was. Thy will be done. There is so much more to the story, but will all be discussed in posts to come.

Our littles came with bins and baggage and both were fully loaded. Bins of their belongings and bags upon bags of resentment, pain, and anger. Along with our agency, pediatrician, therapist, school admin and teachers, church community, family, mamas and God, Husband and I have dedicated our lives to making sure our littles heal and have the best view of how a strong, Christian person should be and how they should act.

This blog will be about our lives, our marriage, our struggles with parenting, our achievements in parenting, sensory projects, recipes, fostering advice, crafts, Catholicism, God, and everything else that makes up our family.
